PURPOSE: To attain miniaturization and thin shape of a magnetic head by forming a magnetic thin film of high saturation magnetic density such that both magnetic head members of which back gap sides are opened by grinding, are combined.
CONSTITUTION: When the head is produced, first a magnetic head core 2 is joined to a core slot 13 of a slider 1. Next a rear surface of the slider 1 which is not confronted with a magnetic recording medium is ground to expose a winding slot 14 of the slider 1 and a winding wire window of the magnetic head core 2, and a coil bobbin 3 which is wound with a wire on its core 2 is mounted. A resin member 16 is charged into the winding slot 14 appeared by grinding and the winding wire window to form the magnetic thin film 17 of high saturation magnetic density on the rear surface of the magnetic head core 2. Thus miniaturization and thin shape of magnetic head can be easily attained and degradation of surface working accuracy of a floating rail and restriction of the winding wire can be dissolved.
