Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a storage device compact and perform the carry-in-and-out work efficiently by stopping the carrying-out onto a work bench and the carrying-in from the work bench by an article conveyance device when it is detected that the work bench is not in a transfer work position by a work bench position detecting means.
CONSTITUTION: A storage device is provided with a work section 3 in a part of storage shelves 2A, 2B provided with a storage section 1 made of a plurality of steps which stores articles C. An article conveyance device which conveys articles C between the work section 3 and each storage section 1 and a control section 73 which controls the operation of the article conveyance device are provided. A work bench 12 on which the article C in the work section 3 is put is slidably provided in a carry-in-and-out work position which protrudes more than a transfer work position where the article is transferred. When it is detected that the work bench 12 is not in the transfer work position, the carrying-out of the article C onto the work bench 12 by the article conveyance device and the carrying-in of the article C from the work bench 12 are stopped. That is, if the work bench is at the transfer work position, it is possible to put the storage device in compact manner.
