Title:
The carrier catalyst which consists of a Digestion residue of the black liquor of titanyl sulfate content
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6099568
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
Composition comprises (i) insoluble digestion residues obtained during digestion of raw material containing titanium, with sulfuric acid, during production of titanium dioxide by sulfate process, and (ii) at least one further component which is catalytically active. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing the above composition, comprising (a) digesting the raw material containing titanium, with sulfuric acid, to obtain a digestion solution containing solids, (b) separating the solids present in the digestion solution, to obtain a digestion residue and to obtain a solid-free digestion solution, (c) optionally neutralizing and/or partially leaching the impurities, preferably neutral salts, (d) mixing the digestion residue with at least one further component which is catalytically active, and (e) optionally calcining the obtained mixture; (2) a catalyst or catalyst raw material containing the composition; and (3) dimensionally stable, catalytically active solids, obtained by (i) mixing the digestion residue or the composition, with binders, plasticizers and optionally further additives, molding the resulting composition, preferably by extrusion, and calcining, or (ii) applying the digestion residue or the composition, optionally together with binders, plasticizers and/or further additives, to a support material, and calcining.
