Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly calculate a flow velocity of air current in a cylinder while suppressing complication of a constitution of an ignition control system.SOLUTION: A control device of an engine is applied to the engine including an ignition coil having a primary coil and a secondary coil, and an ignition plug generating discharge spark between a pair of opposed electrodes in a cylinder of the engine by secondary electric current flowing in the secondary coil in accompany with cutout of primary electric current flowing in the primary coil. The control device of the engine acquires a secondary current value I2 indicating time series change of a discharge situation between the opposed electrodes, determines occurrence of passage elimination in which a part or all of discharge passage between the opposed electrodes eliminates on the basis of an amount of change ΔI2 per a unit time of the second current value I2, calculates a lapse time to the determination of the occurrence of passage elimination from start of discharge between the opposed electrodes, and calculates a flow velocity of air current in the cylinder on the basis of the lapse time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
