Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause reliable burn-out of deposits accumulated on a fuel injection valve by effectively increasing the cylinder temperature of a diesel engine.SOLUTION: A control method for an engine E mounted on a vehicle and adapted to be mechanically connected to driving wheels of the vehicle during the travel of the vehicle, the engine E including a high pressure EGR device 43 and a low pressure EGR device 48 communicating an intake passage and an exhaust passage, and a high pressure EGR valve 43b and a low pressure EGR valve 48c, includes a step of starting fuel injection at a first crank angle of an engine cycle according to the speed and required torque of the engine E during the travel of the vehicle, and controlling the high pressure EGR valve 43b and the low pressure EGR valve 48c to be at first angles, and a step of starting fuel injection at a second crank angle further advanced than the first crank angle with the same speed and required torque as the speed and required torque during the travel in a non-travelling state during the maintenance of the vehicle, and controlling the high pressure EGR valve 43b and the low pressure EGR valve 48c to be fully closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
