PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for converting carbon dioxide to organic compounds.SOLUTION: The hydrogen carbonate ions dissolved in an aqueous solution are converted to organic compounds by making manganese dioxide including a ramsdelite type crystal structure coexist in the mild acidic, neutral or alkaline aqueous solution in which carbon dioxide is dissolved.
