Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for detecting microorganisms resistant to therapeutic agents in biological samples.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for detecting a microorganism resistant to a therapeutic agent comprising the steps of: a) inoculating a biological sample into a first tube containing at least one therapeutic agent and into a second tube not containing the therapeutic agent, where the tubes preferably contain at least a solvent, a buffer and/or a suitable culture medium, or tubes are serum separating tubes, and incubating the sample; b) adding a fluorescent marker to the first and second tubes; and c) carrying out fluorescence analysis to each of the first and second tubes to obtain one or more fluorescence and growth parameter(s), where the biological sample with microorganisms of resistant phenotype to the therapeutic agent can be determined by comparing the one or more fluorescence parameters between the two tubes.SELECTED DRAWING: None
