Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a food/beverage excellent in the absorbability for minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and copper.

CONSTITUTION: It has been found that a degradation product consisting mainly of casein calcium peptide 1000-5000 in molecular weight obtained by treating casein calcium a protease of Aspergillus origin has highly excellent characteristics in terms of the absorbability for minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and copper. For a food/beverage formulated with the above degradation product in combination with such minerals, these minerals can readily be absorbed into the body; therefore, such a food/beverage can prevent or make better the diseases due to malabsorption of these minerals.
