Abstract:
This drive device is provided with: a rotary electric machine; a matrix converter having a power conversion unit that converts power from an alternating current power supply into alternating current power for output; a battery connected to the alternating current power supply side of the power conversion unit; a power consumption element connected to the alternating current power supply side of the power conversion unit via a switch; and a control unit configured to generate signals for opening/closing the switch in accordance with regenerated electric power from the rotary electric machine.
