A client terminal 10-1 uses an application 1 to request a server 20 to access data 1. Upon receipt of the request, the server terminal 20 requests an application certificate to the client terminal 10-1, determines whether to permit the access by the application when authentication based on the application certificate is successful, and transmits the data 1 to the client terminal 10-1 when the application is determined to be permitted. After that, the client terminal 10-1 inquires of the server terminal 20 about an operation authority to the data 1. When storage or print operation is prohibited, storage or print function is disabled in the application 1 at the client terminal 10-1.
