Abstract:
To prevent an exhaust sensor from being exposed to condensate water generated in an exhaust passage.SOLUTION: On performing a specific cylinder fuel cut to stop fuel injection in one of four cylinders #1 to #4 of an engine 10, when a cooling water temperature of the engine 10 exceeds a predetermined temperature, an ECM 20 selects a fuel cut cylinder to stop fuel injection from among all the four cylinders #1 to #4 so that an execution frequency of fuel cut is evened out. On the other hand, when the cooling water temperature is equal to or lower than the predetermined temperature, the ECM 20 limits the cylinders to be selected as the fuel cut cylinder to some cylinders in which an exhaust sensor 14 is likely to be exposed to water.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
