Abstract:
To provide a cooling device for an engine having a water jacket spacer arranged in a water jacket, for actualizing good cooling of an inter-bore wall.SOLUTION: The cooling device for the engine includes a water jacket spacer 3 arranged inside a water jacket 22 for parting a distribution channel for cooling water into a bore side channel 22A close to a cylinder 21 and a counter bore side channel 22B far from the cylinder 21 to form the main stream of the cooling water in the counter bore side channel 22B, the water jacket spacer 3 including an inter-bore spacer part 32 opposed to an inter-bore wall 25, the inter-bore spacer part 32 including a communication hole 33 for communicating the bore side channel 22A and the counter bore side channel 22B, and a protruded part 34 extending from the communication hole 33 to an upper end 32T of the water jacket spacer 3, the protruded part 34 having a breadth in the Y-direction of the bore side channel 22A, wider on the position of the inter-bore spacer part 32 at the upward side of the communication hole 33 than at the downward side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
