Abstract:
To provide an engine starting device that can start an engine even when a crankshaft is locked due to an event of sticking where a piston cannot pass over the compression top dead center when the crankshaft is driven in a reverse rotation direction at engine start up.SOLUTION: When a start control unit 80 detects that a crankshaft 51 is locked in staring an engine E, the start control unit controls a starter motor M to be driven in a reverse rotation direction and a normal rotation direction repeatedly to evacuate from the locked state and starts the engine E.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
