Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide safety equipment on a bridge abutment rear side which makes it possible to prevent falling of vehicle even if a banking on the bridge abutment rear surface is scoured due to closure of the river sectional surface by river swelling, flooding, or drift wood.SOLUTION: Safety equipment provided with a precast slab plate in the running direction of a road and a safety device drawn and installed throughout an earthwork section under the road pavement on the bridge abutment rear side. The safety device is formed by a plurality of steel or chemical fiber cables connected to one another to be placed around in a latticed manner. One end in the road running direction of the safety device is fixed by an anchor to a wing wall and/or a parapet on the bridge abutment rear side, and a cable connection part of the safety device is clamped by fixture or interval holding material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
