Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault tolerant server, a defragmentation method, and a program capable of achieving an optimization of locations of stored data without causing performance deterioration.SOLUTION: A fault tolerant (FT) server 1 has a first physical machine 10 and a second physical machine 20. The first and the second physical machines 20 have a FT control part 31 and a defragmentation control part 32. The FT control part 31 sets one of the physical machines 10, 20 to an operation machine, and the other to a standby machine. The defragmentation control part 32 makes a second storage device 22 provided in the second physical machine 20 as the standby machine execute defragmentation.
