PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reactivity between pretreatment liquid and ink irrespective of a type of a medium, and to improve printing image quality.SOLUTION: A liquid injection device 10 comprises: a transportation mechanism 32 transporting a medium 22 in a first direction; a pretreatment liquid coating mechanism coating the medium 22 with pretreatment liquid 40; a liquid injection section including a plurality of ink nozzles N[C], N[M], N[Y] and N[K] injecting ink 41; and a control section 30 controlling the pretreatment liquid coating mechanism and the liquid injection section. The pretreatment liquid coating mechanism includes: a first mechanism disposed in a first region A; and a second mechanism disposed in a second region B positioned closer to an upstream side in the first direction than the first region A. The plurality of ink nozzles has portions overlapping with the first mechanism in a second direction intersecting with the first direction and portions not overlapping with the second mechanism in the second direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
