PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front protection plate for a display device, which has improved light resistance of a light-shielding layer composed of a colored resin layer using a photosensitive resin, and to provide a display device having the plate.SOLUTION: A front protection plate 10 for a display device includes: a colored resin layer 2a containing a coloring pigment in a resin binder comprising a cured product of a photosensitive resin, as a light-shielding layer 2 and as a structural layer on a light-transmitting substrate 1; and an oxygen-blocking layer 3 covering the colored resin layer. The oxygen-blocking layer 3 can improve the light resistance of the colored resin layer, although the oxygen-blocking layer is not disposed on the light-transmitting substrate side where light is incident to the colored resin layer. The oxygen-blocking layer can be simultaneously formed from the same material as a transparent electrode for a touch panel. The transparent electrode can be obtained by employing a transparent conductor thin film that is transparent as a layer or employing a conductive metal layer that is opaque as a layer but gives see-through property by forming the layer into a mesh state. The display device is constituted by combining the protection plate with a display panel such as a liquid crystal display panel and an EL panel.
