Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely form an air-fuel mixture layer and a heat insulating gas layer in a combustion chamber, in a direct-injection engine.SOLUTION: A fuel injection valve 6 is constituted so that the more a lift amount is, the larger an effective opening area of a nozzle hole 61 for injecting a fuel is. A fuel injection control portion implements a first injection for a prescribed injection period, and then implements a second injection after a prescribed interval. In the first injection, the injection of the fuel is started while adjusting the lift amount of the fuel injection valve to a first lift amount larger than a maximum speed lift amount where a fuel injection speed becomes maximum, and then the fuel is injected while switching the lift amount to a second lift amount smaller than the first lift amount and more than the maximum speed lift amount during continuation of the injection. In the second injection, the fuel is injected while adjusting the lift amount of the fuel injection valve to the lift amount smaller than the first lift amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
