Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely form an air-fuel mixture layer and a heat insulating gas layer in a combustion chamber, in a direct-injection engine.SOLUTION: A fuel injection valve 6 is constituted so that the more a lift amount of an outer opening valve 62 is, the narrower a taper angle of a follow cone is. A fuel injection control portion injects fuel at a prescribed injection timing when a required injection amount is smaller than a first required amount, implements a first injection for injecting the fuel at a timing advanced with respect to the prescribed injection timing, with a prescribed first lift amount, and then implements a second injection for injecting the fuel with a second lift amount smaller than the first lift amount after the first injection, when the required injection amount is the first required amount or more and smaller than a second required amount, and implements the first injection and the second injection, and then implements a third injection with a third lift amount smaller than the second lift amount for an injection period shorter than those in the first and second injections, after the second injection, when the required injection amount is the second required amount or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
