Abstract:
PURPOSE: To culture base capable of controlling change in form, proliferation and function in cell culture based on a specific interaction between a saccharide chain polymer and a cell and to provide a method for cell culture using the cell culture base.
CONSTITUTION: This cell culture device is obtained by modifying the surface of a base such as a laboratory dish with at least one or preferably more saccharide chain polymers. Culture is carried out on the cell culture base to control change in form, proliferation and function. The cell culture base is readily produced, has high function and is inexpensive. Both the cell culture base and a method for cell culture can control not only cell adhesiveness but also change in form, proliferation and function of cell.
