Abstract:
To facilitate the manufacture of a golf club head that can enhance a coefficient of restitution with durability.SOLUTION: A golf club head 11 is formed by joining various parts to a metallic head outer shell 21 having a hollow structure. The head outer shell 21 has a region where a face and a sole 52 are continuous with each other to form a leading edge 55 between the face and the sole 52. On a part of the sole 52 of the head outer shell 21, a recessed slot 81 that bends in a flying direction TD in hitting a ball with the face is provided along the leading edge 55. A reinforcing member 82 which is made of a fiber reinforced plastic and is attached to the inside of the slot 81 apples resistance to bending of the slot 81. The slot 81 has a thickness of, for example, about 0.8 to 1.3 mm and has a cross-sectional shape forming a parabola. The reinforcing member 82 has a thickness of, for example, about 10 to 20% of a width of the slot 81 in the flying direction TD.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
