PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club selection method capable of selecting a golf club suitable to a golfer with higher accuracy in accordance with the sidespin amount of a hit ball of the golfer.SOLUTION: A golf club selection method for selecting a golf club suitable to a subject includes a step for measuring the sidespin amount of a hit ball of the subject, a step for calculating an index value to be an index of a flight characteristic of the hit ball in a longitudinal direction about each of a plurality of previously prepared golf clubs on the basis of specification information that gives influence on the sidespin amount of a hit ball, a step for calculating a proper sidespin amount to be selection reference of a golf club suitable to the subject on the basis of the index value of the golf club about each of the plurality of previously prepared golf clubs, and a step for selecting a golf club suitable to the subject on the basis of the proper sidespin amount of each of the plurality of previously prepared golf clubs and the measured sidespin amount.
