Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6039360
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a required light distribution characteristic while avoiding enlargement of a headlight for a vehicle.SOLUTION: A headlight for a vehicle mounted at a front part of a vehicle comprises: a main light source 4 including plural light emission elements; a sub-light source 5 including the smaller number of light emission elements than that of the main light source 4; a projection lens 3a on which light emitted from the main light source 4 and the sub-light source 5 are incident and that projects to a front of the vehicle; and a substrate 6 standing on a rear side of the projection lens 3a while the main light source 4 and the sub-light source 5 are mounted. The sub-light source 5 is arranged on the substrate 6 at a lower part of the main light source 4, and the substrate 6 is arranged so that the main light source 4 and the sub-light source 5 are positioned near a focal point F1 of the projection lens 3a. Thereby, the headlight for the vehicle can be made smaller than a conventional one. Also, light of the main light source 4 can be utilized as light distribution for radiating a road, and light of the sub-light source 5 can be utilized as light distribution for an overhead sign.
