Abstract:
To provide a hydraulic shock absorber capable of suppressing damages generated in a seal member.SOLUTION: A hydraulic shock absorber is equipped with a cylindrical outer cylinder 16, a cylindrical inner cylinder 15 that is inserted in the outer cylinder 16 and forms a reservoir chamber 18 between the outer cylinder 16 and the inner cylinder 15, a rod 50 that is inserted in the inner cylinder 15, a seal member 41 that has a lip 102 extending to the axially inner side and seals a space between the rod 50 and the outer cylinder 16, and a rod guide 26 that is inserted in the axially inner side than the seal member 41 in the inner cylinder 15 and in which the rod 50 is inserted. The rod guide 26 has a recessed portion 143 opposing to the lip 102, and a communication path 151 that has components toward the axially inner side, and performs communication between a bottom surface 143a of the recessed portion 143 and the reservoir chamber 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
