Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to stably form a toner image on a developing roller even when the individual difference between developing devices and a change in electrification performance of a developer occur.SOLUTION: A developing device 122 includes a developing roller 54, a density sensor 127 that detects the density of a toner of a toner image formed on a photoreceptor drum 121 or an intermediate transfer belt 125, and an operation control part 101. The operation control part 101 causes a developing bias application part 81 to apply a developing bias to the developing roller 54, while the developing roller 54 and the photoreceptor drum 121 are stopped, and subsequently rotates the photoreceptor drum 121 to convey a toner image formed on the photoreceptor drum 121. The operation control part 101 calculates the width of a developable area on the basis of the density of the toner detected by the density sensor 127, and corrects the developing bias on the basis of the calculated width of a developing area.
