Abstract:
To reduce a potential unevenness in an axial direction of a photoconductor drum due to the difference in peripheral speed between the photoconductor drum and an electrifying roller.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a rotating photoreceptor; an electrifying roller that is in contact with the photoreceptor to rotate following the photoreceptor and performs contact electrification for the photoreceptor; and a balance roller that is in contact with the electrifying roller and presses the electrifying roller in a direction approaching the photoreceptor. The electrifying roller has a shaft core that is rotatably supported, and an elastic layer that is provided on an outer periphery of the shaft core and in contact with the photoreceptor. The electrifying roller has a shape in which the outer diameter of the elastic layer is increased from the ends toward the center in an axial direction, and the difference between the outer diameter at the ends and the outer diameter at the center of the elastic layer is 60 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
