Abstract:
To prevent variations in belt tension between different modes.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 of the present invention comprises: an endless belt 321 that carries toner; a plurality of rollers that are arranged on an inner peripheral surface side of the belt 321 and stretch the belt 321, the plurality of rollers including a driven roller r5, a tension roller r8, and swing rollers r1, r2, r3; a moving unit 51 that moves positions of axes of rotation of the swing rollers r1, r2, r3; and a variation prevention mechanism 70 that prevents variations in tension of the belt 321 generated by the movement of the plurality of driven rollers r1, r2, r3 by the moving unit 51 from first positions to second positions in accordance with the change of an image formation mode from a first mode to a second mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
