Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device, method, and program that obtains a picked-up image which is natural and free of a feeling of incompatibility and has a light-dark difference between a light start and a dark star emphasized without reference to an imaging scene.SOLUTION: An image processing method comprises: dividing a starry sky image obtained by imaging a starry sky by an imaging device S403; detecting the number of bright points as the number of starts in every image region at S405; detecting a maximum value "m" thereof at S406; and determining image processing to be performed on the starry sky image based thereupon at S407. The method comprises: performing defocusing processing on the starry sky image at S408 when the maximum value "m" is equal to or larger than a predetermined value "h" for YES at S407; performing edge emphasizing processing S410 when the maximum value is equal to or less than a predetermined value "i" smaller than the predetermined value "h" for YES at S409; and not performing the image processing for NO at S407 when the maximum value "m" is smaller than the predetermined value "h" for NO at S409 and larger than the predetermined value "i".SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
