Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that can perform an accurate focus adjustment even when there is a subject of high luminance in a picture or a subject of a point light source therein.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an imaging part that photoelectrically converts a subject image to be formed by a photographing optical system to obtain an image signal; a focus adjustment part that adjusts a focus of the subject image to be formed by the imaging optical system; a focal position detection part that detects a focal position from a part of the image signal out of image signals obtained by the imaging part while driving the focus adjustment part; a photometry part that measures brightness of light to be made incident from the imaging optical system; and a control part that makes methods of determining whether or not the subject of the point light source is present inside an area acquiring an image signal for detecting the focal position differ in accordance with the brightness of the light to be made incident from the photographing optical system.
