Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure confidentiality of secret information concerning an ECU (electronic control unit).SOLUTION: An electronic control unit 132 stores a common key previously shared with an information processing device 101, generates a message for authentication, generates a message authentication code related to the message through the use of the common key; and transmits the generated message and the message authentication code to the information processing device 101 by way of an on-vehicle communication device 131. The information processing device 101 stores the common key and verifies the received message authentication code through the use of the common key and the received message. When the verification of the message authentication code is successfully performed, a response code is generated based on the received message and the common key and transmitted to the electronic control unit 132 by way of the on-vehicle communication device 131. The electronic control unit 132 verifies the received response code on the basis of the common key.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
