PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus in which operability when operating it with one hand is improved.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus 100 includes a touch panel 107 and a home button having a fingerprint reading sensor 105. A storage unit 113 stores a fingerprint image for authentication. A collation unit 110 performs user authentication by collating a fingerprint image of a fingerprint read by the fingerprint reading sensor 105 at the time of depression of the home button with the fingerprint image stored in the storage unit 113. At the time of collation, the collation unit 110 enhances consistency by rotating the fingerprint image read by the fingerprint reading sensor 105. With a rotation angle at this rotation, a specification unit 111 specifies the direction of a finger at the time of depression of the home button, and determines a display region of a GUI object in the touch panel 107 on the basis of the specified direction of the finger. By displaying the GUI object in the display region, operability with the finger at the time of depression is improved.
