Abstract:
The present invention provides an internal combustion engine and a fuel injection valve. A breakup location of a spray from the fuel injection valve that sprays fuel to an intake port located upstream of an intake valve is set upstream of the intake valve. A spray angle and a spray axis line of the fuel injection valve are set such that the spray deflected by an intake flow inside the intake port does not come into contact with a wall surface of the intake port at the breakup location. In this way, it is possible to prevent the spray of fuel from coming into contact with the wall surface of the intake port even when the intake flow deflects the spray of fuel while maintaining the spread of the spray of fuel as large as possible in the intake port.
