PURPOSE: To generate a High Vision synchronizing signal with simple circuit configuration and to superimpose the synchronizing signal onto a video signal by storing 5 kinds of synchronizing signal waveforms to a High Vision synchronizing signal generating means and using the synchronizing signal generating means to output the synchronizing signal sequentially selectively.
CONSTITUTION: Address generating circuits 7, 8 forming a synchronizing signal generating means with a ROM 6 are controlled by a controller 10 and ROM 1-ROM5 of a synchronizing signal generating means storing 5 kinds of High Vision synchronizing signals synchronously with a horizontal synchronizing signal are sequentially accessed by an address from the circuit 8. On the other hand, the ROM 6 storing the sequence of selecting outputs of the ROM1-ROM5 is accessed by the address generating circuit 7 to control sequential ON-state of switches 11-1-11-5, the 5 kinds of the High Vision synchronizing signals are generated with simple configuration and the synchronizing signal is outputted while being superimposed onto a video signal.
