Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily enable extension and also to suppress the rise of the manufacturing costs of members by suppressing the enlarging of a device for expadingly extending of the processing data volume in an automatic library processor.
SOLUTION: An access mechanism 15 self-travels with giudes of giude rails 16 to access to a drive mechanism 14 performing a recording/reproducing with respect to many storage mediums 1 stored in storage shelves 13 in a case 10 to load or unload a storage medium which is to be drawn out from or to be tacken into the storage shelf by hand part 15d of the access mechanism 15. A rail for self-travelling 17 whose cross section is a C-channel shape is equiped along the guide rails 16 and plural pieces of block shaped rack gears 18 are connectedly inserted in the longitudinal direction of the rails. The access mechanism 15 is made to self-travel by engaging pinion driving gears constituting the self-travelling motive part for action of the access mechanism side with these rack gears. In expanding an information data volume, the rail length- comaptible number of rack gears are forward feedingly inserted from one end side of connected rails for self-travelling to be joined. Moreover, tooth forms 18a and their pitches of connection parts are correctly formed.
