To provide a light emitting device which makes a color of light extracted from an area where no light source is arranged in a plan view closer to a color of light extracted from an area where a light source is arranged so as to suppress color unevenness in the plan view.SOLUTION: There is provided a light emitting device which comprises a substrate, a plurality of light sources arranged on the substrate, and a plurality of surrounding parts each surrounding each of the plurality of light sources in a plan view. Each of the plurality of surrounding parts comprises a reflector having a planar bottom part provided with an opening where the light source is arranged and a side part inclined to spread upward and a wavelength conversion member arranged to face the substrate with the plurality of light sources interposed therebetween and comprising a fluorescent substance. Each of the plurality of light sources emits light of a first color, and the fluorescent substance emits light of a second color when excited by light of the first color emitted by the light source. The plurality of surrounding parts comprises one or more surrounding parts whose at least side part is colored with the first color.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1C
