Abstract:
To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing a reduction in VHR and increasing a response speed.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal panel with a liquid crystal layer containing a liquid crystal composition, and a light source irradiating the liquid crystal panel with light, the liquid crystal composition contains at least one of a first liquid crystal compound having a phenyl group and a conjugated bond group forming a conjugated system continuing to the phenyl group and a second liquid crystal compound having an alkenyl group not forming a conjugated system, and the light source emits green light having a half-value width of less than 50 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
