PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an absorbent article using an inspection method for accurately inspecting whether or not a lump exists in an absorber.SOLUTION: A production method of the invention is a production method of an absorbent article 22 including a step for inspecting whether or not a lump 81 exists in an absorber 11 being transported, in which the inspection step comprises: a step for projecting light to a surface of the absorber 11; a step for receiving the light which is transmitted through the absorber 11; a step for deriving a light reception amount based on the received light; and a step for determining that the lamp 81 exists in the absorber 11 when the derived light reception amount is lower than the prescribed threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
