PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve yielding percentage when a carrier is molded by press.SOLUTION: Provided is a method in which a support part 5 of a pinion gear of a planetary gear mechanism produces a carrier 1 disposed on a carrier base part 2 which is a bottomed cylindrical shape, from one blank plate. The method comprises: a step for expanding diameter of an open hole disposed on an area serving as a support part of the blank plate by burring processing, and forming a cylindrical wall surrounding the expanded open hole by projecting the open hole from the blank plate toward one side; a step for forming a penetration part for penetrating the blank plate in a thickness direction along an outer periphery of the cylindrical wall while remaining a connection part with the blank plate on one point in the peripheral direction of the cylindrical wall; and a step for raising the cylindrical wall toward the other side of the base part for forming a support part of the pinion gear, in which the connection part between the base part and the cylindrical wall serves as a fulcrum.
