Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure that suppresses deformation in burning, prevents a catalyst from peeling off a partition wall, and can be burned at a low burning temperature.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure 1 contains a cordierite component and has partition walls 4 for partitioning a plurality of cells 3 that form fluid passages and extend from one end face 2a to the other end face 2b. The honeycomb structure has a thermal expansion coefficient in the center axis direction A of 1.2 ppm/K or more and 3.5 ppm/K or less in a temperature change of 40-800°C and a thermal expansion coefficient in the cross-sectional direction orthogonal to the center axis direction A of 0.8 ppm/K or more and 2.5 ppm/K or less in a temperature change of 40-800°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
