Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer support alignment type liquid crystal display element and a method for manufacturing the element having high characteristics in a response time, a voltage holding rate, a threshold voltage, a contrast ratio and a service life.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polymer support alignment type liquid crystal display element comprises sealing a liquid crystal composition comprising a polymerizable compound represented by formula (1) in an element and irradiating the element with UV rays at a specific illuminance. In the formula, ring A and ring C represent phenyl or naphthyl; ring B represents 1,4-phenylene or the like; Zand Zrepresent a single bond or alkylene; Pto Prepresent a polymerizable group; Spto Sprepresent a single bond or alkylene; a to c represent an integer of 0 to 4; and d represents 1 or 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
