A photoelectric conversion element which comprises a conductive supporting body, a photosensitive layer that contains fine semiconductor particles that are loaded with a metal complex dye represented by formula (I), a charge transfer layer, and a counter electrode; a metal complex dye; a metal complex; a dye solution; a dye-adsorbed electrode; a dye-sensitized solar cell; and a method for manufacturing the dye-sensitized solar cell. formula (I) In formula (I), M represents a metal ion; each of rings A-C represents a nitrogen-containing aromatic hetero ring; each of Z1 and Z2 represents a C or N atom; each of R1-R3 represents a substituent; X1 represents a linking group other than a single bond; X2 represents a linking group; X3 represents a single bond or a linking group; each of Anc1-3 represents an acidic group; one or two of L1-L3 each represents an anionic ligand; Y represents an ion; each of n1 and n3 represents an integer of 0-4; n2 represents an integer of 0-3; each of l1 and l3 represents an integer of 1-4; l2 represents an integer of 1-5; m1 represents an integer of 1-4; m2 represents an integer of 0-3; m3 represents an integer of 0-4; and n represents an integer of 0-2.
