Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing pliable desized denim products by desizing glue of denim fabric while preventing decolorization of denim fabric.SOLUTION: Provided is a method of manufacturing desized denim products, wherein a starched denim product is brought into contact with a desizing solution containing amylase and an enzyme capable of oxidizing polyvinyl alcohol, subsequently the denim product contacted with enzyme is washed, and the washed denim product is dried to obtain a desized denim product. Preferably, the enzyme capable of oxidizing polyvinyl alcohol contains a secondary alcohol oxidase. Preferably, the desizing solution further contains an enzyme capable of hydrolyzing oxidized polyvinyl alcohol.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
