Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous propylene production method which allows reduction of energy consumption of a purification system while keeping a propylene yield.SOLUTION: A propylene production method comprises cooling a reaction product obtained by reacting an olefin with methanol and/or dimethyl ether, supplying the reaction product to two or more multi-stage compression units to obtain propylene from ingredients produced by compression in the last-stage compression unit. Liquid ingredients produced by compression in the front-stage compression units are supplied to a distillation unit, and gas ingredients discharged from the distillation unit are supplied to the subsequent-stage compression units.
