Abstract:
To provide a high strength and light weight mooring coupler.SOLUTION: A marine mooring coupler for connecting a first mooring rope and a second mooring rope includes a hollow body, that is an outer shell, and a central core. The marine mooring coupler has: the outer shell including a rope passage surface; the central core including first material; and at the same time, the outer shell including second material; the first material different from the second material; the outer shell having an external surface; the external surface including a first groove for defining the first rope passage surface for the first mooring rope, a second groove for defining a second rope passing surface for the second mooring rope, and an apex formed between the first groove and the second groove for separating the first rope passing surface and the second rope passing surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
