Abstract:
To provide a mechanical seal capable of accurately and easily imparting desired energizing force of a spring between a mating ring and a seal ring.SOLUTION: A mechanical seal 1 includes a mating ring 10, a seal ring 20 brought in slide-contact with the mating ring 10, a collar 4 fixed to a rotating shaft body 2, and a spring 5 arranged between the seal ring 20 and the collar 4. The mechanical seal 1 further includes a holding member 7 which can temporarily unitize the seal ring 20, the collar 4, and the spring 5 in a state that the spring 5 is compressed between the seal ring 20 and the collar 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
