Abstract:
To decrease a temperature of exhaust gas, and reduce a fuel consumption of a melting burner.SOLUTION: A melting holding furnace comprises: a melting chamber 4 in which a charged metal material 2 is melted by first heating units 24 and 25 to form a molten metal; a holding chamber 5 that communicates with the melting chamber 4, and adjusts and holds the molten metal flowing from the melting chamber 4 to a predetermined temperature by a second heating unit 27; a charging passage 6 that is provided at one end of the melting chamber 4 so as to extend upward, and has an opening 7 for charging the metal material 2 at its upper end part; height detection units 36 and 37 that detect the material height of the metal material 2 charged in the charging passage 6; and a controller 13 that controls the heating output of the first heating units 24 and 25 based on the material height detected by the height detection units.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
