Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to change the rotation direction of an output shaft in an open/close member drive device and to simplify assembly work thereof. Provided is an open/close member drive device 1 comprising: an output shaft 2 which protrudes from a case 10; a motor 3 which is a drive source; a transmission mechanism 44 which transmits the rotation of the motor 3 to the output shaft 2; and an assist spring 5 which impels the output shaft 2. The transmission mechanism 4 comprises: an output gear 45 which rotates integrally with the output shaft 2; and a fourth gear 44 which is a front-stage gear meshing with the output gear 45. A first teeth part T1 and a second teeth part T2 of the output gear 45 are symmetrical shapes with a line L2, which connects a center C1 of the output gear 45 with a center C2 of the fourth gear 44 which is the front-stage gear, as a line of symmetry. Accordingly, the rotation direction of the output shaft 2 can be changed by changing only the winding direction of the assist spring 5 without changing the shape or an origin position RA of the output shaft 2.
