Abstract:
To provide a method of manufacturing a metal structural member capable of suppressing a decrease in the stiffness of the metal structural member while suppressing a narrowing of the range of allowable welding conditions, and also to provide a metal structural member.SOLUTION: In a first preparatory step of the method of manufacturing a metal structural member, a first metal plate M1 having a groove forming part 12 is prepared. The groove forming part 12 has a concave surface SA that forms a portion of an inner surface S11 of the first metal plate M1 and a convex surface SB that forms a portion of an outer surface S12 of the first metal plate M1. The groove forming part 12 is formed in a way to surround at least one specific preset region RS. A region in which an adhesive is applied to the inner surface of the metal plate in an arranging step is an outer region R4 other than the region corresponding to the groove forming part 12 and the part surrounded by the groove forming part 12. In a welding step, the first metal plate M1 stacked with a second metal plate M2 are welded in the at least one specific region RS.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
