Abstract:
To provide a method of efficiently increasing the amount of one or more compounds selected from stilbenoid such as resveratrol in a plant or a part thereof, or a plant cultured cell thereof, and/or a metabolite of a TCA cycle, polyamine alkaloid, 4-amino butyrate, and abscisic acid and a salt thereof.SOLUTION: The method of increasing the amount of one or more compounds selected from stilbenoid in a plant, a part thereof, or a crushed matter thereof, or a plant cultured cell thereof, and/or a metabolite of a TCA cycle, polyamine alkaloid, 4-amino butyrate, and abscisic acid and a salt thereof includes: irradiating a plant, a part thereof, or a crushed matter thereof, or a plant cultured cell with light such that an exposure dose of light having a wavelength region of 275-295 nm is 50,000-2,500,000 μmol/m2 and an exposure dose of light having a wavelength region of 200-270 nm is less than 20% of the exposure dose of the light having the wavelength region of 275-295 nm; and storing the compounds in a dark place for one or more days after the irradiation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
