PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the privacy of a user of a portable terminal device with a GPS receiver mounted therein.SOLUTION: A secret place 401 is registered. A circular boarder line 403 is set with the secret place as a center. Further, identifiers of hot spots 411a-415a of a wireless LAN device that can be detected near access routes 410a-410c to the secret place are registered. The hot spots are registered as pairs 411-415 of hot spots on the same access route. When a portable terminal device 100 enters the inside of the boarder line, the GPS receiver is stopped. When the wireless LAN device mounted in the portable terminal device first detects a hot spot 415b regarding e.g., a pair 410c of hot spots and next detects the hot spot 415a, the GPS receiver is operated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
